Parking lot is located across the street from Wells Fargo bank on the left as you travel west on 299 through New Paltz.

We will either meet inside the shop or in the parking lot. Rock and Snow has any and all gear you could ever need in the outdoors, and the best service imaginable. Be sure to make time to stop in at some point during your visit!

PETER’S KILL CLIMBING AREA

Located 1 mile east of the Main Entrance to the Minneswaska State Park Preserve.

Peter’s Kill Climbing Area is part of the Minnewasaka State Park Preserve. From New Paltz you will head down Route 299 for about 6 miles until you reach Route 44/55. Make a right and continue on 44/55 for 5.5 miles and Peter’s Kill Climbing area will be on your right. If you reach the Main Entrance to Minnewaska State Park (at 7 miles, it will be on your left), you have gone too far.

The Main Entrance to the park is located on Route 44/55, seven miles west of the junction of Route 299.

From New Paltz you will head down Route 299 for about 6 miles until you reach Route 44/55. Make a right and continue on 44/55 for 7 miles and the Main Entrance to the park will be on your left, 1 mile past Peter’s Kill Climbing Area (which would have been on your right).


NEW PALTZ PARK AND RIDE

NYS Thruway Exit 18 Park & Ride
New York State Thruway
New Paltz, NY, 12561

Exit the NYS Thruway at exit 18 (New Paltz). Once you are through the toll booth, just past the tandem parking area, the Park and Ride is on your left before the traffic light.

There is a 16 hour limit on parking here, so do not plan on leaving your car here overnight. This is also a convenient stop for Trailways Bus.


KINGSTON PARK AND RIDE

Exit the NYS Thruway at exit 19 (Kingston). Once you are through the toll booth, enter the traffic circle and take the second right onto I-587. Entrance to the Park and Ride will be immediately on your right.

This lot is sometimes crowded on weekends, parking on the shoulder or in dirt parking spots is sometimes necessary.


*In some situations we are able to arrange transportation for certain groups. For trips coming out of NYC, Port Authority is a very convenient meeting location. This is also where you will catch the Trailways (www.TrailwaysNY.com) to New Paltz or Kingston.

At the intersection where 41st st crosses 8th ave and goes though the Port Authority building.

We typically meet under the portion of the building that covers 41st street, across from the Heartland Brewery. Please arrive 15 minutes early and be ready to load/unload quickly as this is a very busy area.
